Kim Delaney was an American actor from the United States. She is most famous because of her part as Detective Diane Russell, in the ABC drama series NYPD Blue. For this she was awarded the Emmy Award. She is best known for her part on All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, a housewife. She grew up in a family which included four brothers. As a young girl, she wanted to become a reporter for the court. But in highschool her modeling career began when she was able to model for commercials and after moving New York. As a teenager, her first role as an actor was on the soap opera of 1980 All My Children. Her career as an actor has been awash with numerous television films and dramas. The professional life she has had is much more lucrative than her personal life. The accomplished actor has struggled with alcoholism and has had two divorces. In 2005, she lost custody of the only child that she had.
